Impression

For lack of a new painting to post today I pulled this out of the closet. Something I did years ago on canvas paper. It is my attempt to do a "Cezanne" like painting. He is my most favorite painter of all the masters. I just love his still life paintings. Why? I think it's the colors and the very visible brush strokes. He would use more than one view point in a single painting too! For my reference: I clipped images out of magazines and did a colage first. Then I zeroxed it and used that to paint from trying to use colors that Cezanne might use. I actually liked that approach but have never tried it again. Maybe now that i'm retired i'll get around to trying it again with another artist is mind.

Red Delicious

I wish I knew how to crop my images. Watercolor is not my thing but every once in a great while i'll try it. It sure is much easier to clean up afterwards. I actually have some nice watercolor brushes (that's because they are never used). If I work in this size all the time I could do a painting a day. I painted this from a photo in the "Wet Canvas" photo reference resource.

Come on In

I'm really getting brave. This is my first street sceen. It was fun to do and much lighter and brighter than my normal way of painting. This was painted from a photo found at "Wet Canvas."

Wondering

I wonder why some painting come easy and others come hard. The colors in the background, cloth, and table top have changed many times. It came so close to going in the trash but i'll keep it for now.

Earth and Sun

I've always loved the dark backgrounds. It lets the color shine. I was pleased with the way this turned out.

This is only my second landscape painting. The first one went into the trash. I had fun with this one. So, I will try again.

Companions

This painting is of my two best companions. My late husband and my pet of twelve years who is still with me.
