Impression

For lack of a new painting to post today I pulled this out of the closet. Something I did years ago on canvas paper. It is my attempt to do a "Cezanne" like painting. He is my most favorite painter of all the masters. I just love his still life paintings. Why? I think it's the colors and the very visible brush strokes. He would use more than one view point in a single painting too! For my reference: I clipped images out of magazines and did a colage first. Then I zeroxed it and used that to paint from trying to use colors that Cezanne might use. I actually liked that approach but have never tried it again. Maybe now that i'm retired i'll get around to trying it again with another artist is mind.
